Did you Know? Woodland Park edition

This entrepreneurial mug gig has brought some unexpected bonuses. We have 3 owner/operators and without all three of us, this thing we call Nice Rainstorm would not last a day. Kristian is our web developer and CFO. He figures out the technical behind-the-scenes stuff. I am the researcher, blogger, retail manager, printer, delivery driver, and other duties that make this small business go on a daily basis. Ani is our artist and obviously without her, we wouldn't have a product at all.
Of my roles, my favorite is researching each town to decide what should be highlighted on the mug. It's easier and feels more authentic if I have actually been to the town we're showcasing. So, recently when we took a camping trip to Woodland Park, we saw some of our "mug sites" in person. It was like our own little family scavenger hunt. One of the highlights was The Donut Mill. We only showcase businesses if they have proven longevity. According to their website, their current location was established in 1977. For anyone nearing 50 years old (like me), you understand that that is proven longevity!
We awoke from our campsite in Pike National Forest (which is also featured on our mug) and drove to town to grab some sustenance before thrifting at the local shops. We had to check out what all the donut hype was about. In my opinion, it's the sheer size of the donuts that did it for me. Delish and huge! A winning combo. So go to Woodland Park and check out the Donut Mill!
Natural beauty, views of 14er mountains, quaint shops, parks, a Dinosaur Resource Center, camping, and so much more. Woodland Park is still slightly off of everyone's radar. We had a grand 'ole time.
